Silver clay is a material that converts to pure silver when it is fired in a kiln to a temperature of 1650F. I oxidise my pieces after firing to produce a ‘ distressed’ look, but this can be made more shiny with further polishing. These ‘icicles’ are flat on one side and embossed with a flower pattern on the reverse side. When worn, they will occasionally swing to reveal this ‘secret’. I have added some silver beads of different sizes above to provide texture and shape contrast. The whole effect is dramatic, while being light as a feather. Size: length (earring hole to end) 2.25”.
