Amethyst and silver hematite bracelet.

Amethyst was popular in Ancient Greece for jewelry and wine goblets, as it was thought to prevent intoxication. Colors vary considerably from deep purple to pale lilac. It is the birthstone for February. I have contrasted the rich purple of these amethyst beads with a row of square-cut hematite. Both stones are considered to have protective qualities.
