How long have been in business or been practicing your trade?
As long as I can remember, I have been creating art. First, I started painting jewelry boxes and furniture, then canvases. Later, I started working with wood, creating bass-relief collages. My latest work incorporates wood, painting and collage using repurposed materials.
How did you get started?
As a young adult, I needed furniture and art for my house. I began to paint second hand furniture and create paintings for my walls. This became my hobby and obsession.
Is there someone or something that inspired you to start or continue to grow?
Art has always been a large part of my life as I was raised in an artistic family. My father is an architect and artist. My great uncle was a professional artist and illustrator who’s sketchbooks have inspired many of my paintings. Pop and Modern art have always fascinated me. My most recent art includes imagery from popular and mass culture as well as vintage imagery and advertising.
What was your favorite memory of being at OMOC?
My favorite memory happened just as I finished setting up my booth. A gentleman photographing a piece of my art told me how much he liked my art because it made him laugh and remember friends.
